Jupiters Summer Surf Girl is an annual fundraising and awareness program for Surf Life Saving Queensland. Kate Norman is representing the Coolum Beach Surf Life Saving Club for the second year in a row to embark on a twelve month fundraising and surf safety awareness campaign on behalf of her surf club.
2013 marks the 49th year of Summer Surf Girl, which began in 1964. Since inception, the Summer Surf Girl program has raised more than $12.5 million for surf life saving clubs throughoutQueensland. All funds raised by the Kate this year will be used to purchase vital rescue equipment for Coolum Beach Surf Life Saving Club.
A key part of Kate’s campaign this year will be to raise awareness of surf safety within the local community of Coolum and amongst the many tourists who visit our beautiful beaches each year. This year, Kate will be working closely with new corporate partners, The Beach Retreat Coolum, to raise awareness with surf safety presentations at the resort over the busy Christmas period.
Here at The Beach Retreat Coolum we are very excited to be partnering Kate and the Coolum Surf Club in this year Jupiter’s Summer Surf Girl Campaign. The guests will be able to learn with us some great water safety tips when she pops up to see us. Keep and eye out on our facebook site for the times she will be at the resort.
